Licensed Designs for Plum Practicewear

I am very happy to show you three designs of mine that became products by American gymnastics activewear brand Plum Practicewear in 2018. ‘Icebreaker’ became part of their winter collection, ‘Waikiki’ was in their summer Coastal Craze collection and ‘Jubilee’ turned out to be a tropical bestseller from their Back to School collection.

Summer in Cuba

It’s been already three weeks since we came back from our three weeks of travelling in Cuba. And now that everything is unpacked, the photos are downloaded, the stories have been told dozens of times and the whole travel experience has become categorized in my brain and body it is time to show some impressions… Read More

Sacred Ibis – an Australian children’s brand

Today I am very happy to introduce the Australian children’s clothing brand Sacred Ibis to you. But first, I have a little personal story to share how we got to know each other. In summer 2014 our family travelled around Thailand. On the little paradise-like island of Koh Tao we met Carly Jordan and her… Read More

A Year of Co-Labs

On International Women’s Day (unintentionally) last year Doris Reske and started our first Co-Lab experiment and this weekend we painted together for the 12th time. Over the course of the year we have painted in her studio (a lot!), in the sunshine in my garden, together with little painters and just by ourselves. We had… Read More

Hello December!

So we have come to the last page of Claras Calender of 2015 today: And we have already had the first snow of this season on November 22. Only a couple of centimeters and most of it melted on the ground straightaway. But as you might imagine, the girls were very excited on that Sunday… Read More

Pattern 42/52

This week’s pattern was inspired by a tutorial in the Textile Design Lab, where I became a member in September – highly recommendable! It started out with some watercolour playtime in my studio painting all kinds of stripes: I painted stripes on watercolour paper and also on this strange yupo paper again (which took about… Read More

Hello October!

I am a bit late to the October party, I just realized yesterday. So here is Clara’s calendar page: And it fits so perfectly, being right in the middle of the mushroom season and with the mushroom pattern I created recently. We have had a beautiful autumn so far, with lots of bright sunshine (but… Read More

Harvest Sketches

It is mostly my sketchbook I go to for drawing and painting these September days. And the total vegan foodie that I am, I love drawing all the good things that are in season right now. And then eating them. This is quite a challenge for me, especially with figs, that are one of my… Read More

Hello September!

I must admit, I was quite resistant to turn Clara’s calendar yesterday morning, as it meant the official ending of my favourite season of the year. And summer gave us a nearly tropical day and evening on August 31 as a farewell gift, so waking up to rain and dropped temperatures on September 1 felt… Read More

My Thailand Sketchbook

I brought my sketchbook home brimming with sketches and the feeling of fun I had while drawing them. Nearly all of its hundred pages filled up with memories and the big and little things I saw and put to paper on our Thailand trip. Things, that a camera can’t capture this way. Mostly little things,… Read More

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‚Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?‘ Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Would you have guessed that I painted these flowers digitally, solely on the iPad? While most digital artists prefer Procreate, I love Adobe Fresco for its unpredictable watercolour brushes which bring much of the beauty and magic of real watercolours 🎨💫

For those of you who are interested in trying digital watercolour painting on the iPad I have a whole beginner class on @skillshare on this topic where we will paint crocuses in the snow, a little harbinger of spring. You can find the link to the class in my bio linktree ⬆️ It also gives you a month on Skillshare for free, with access to all my classes and thousands more.
